Happy Blogeversary -- to me!

Exactly one year ago I started this blog. I want to thank all you Dear Readers for following my rants humble posts.

From my first unauspicious post  to this, my 206th, I like to think that my writing, photography and (oh, yeah) recipes have greatly improved during this one short year.

To celebrate, I'm going to give YOU the present: a respite from my blog. In no particular order, here are a baker's dozen of some of the food blogs and sites I lurk at follow, with a recipe link to each.

1. Kosher in the Kitch
A hostess with the mostess (I made that up myself ;-) ) Try her Spinach Mushroom Lasagna Rollups.

2. Kosher Recipe Blog
No photos in her posts, but the recipes say a thousand words.  Try her Chicken Mushroom Pie  (and try to ignore the traif ads).

3. Not Derby Pie
Despite the strange name, all the recipes are kosher, and most are vegetarian. Try her version of The Easiest Cake Ever, a no-mixer cake with fruit in or on or underneath.

4. Kosher.com
Her recipes are quick & kosher. And by an amazing coincidence, she is the author of a book by that very same name. Try the Deconstructed Apple Pie, really individual single crust wonders. By using store-bought puff pastry, the hardest part of the recipe is peeling the apples.

6. The Mom Chef
The adventures (and misadventures) of trying out magazine recipes. A non-kosher site, but the majority of her posts are kosher-friendly. I like her take on Dense Chocolate Torte which is extremely chocolate and extremely Passover-friendly.

5. Got No Milk
Not a kosher site either, but due to the nature of the site contains great parve and chicken/beef recipes. And anyone who also describes foods as "fancy-schmancy" is tops in my book. I like her Chopped Chicken with Dill En Croute.

7. Vegetarian Times
As you would assume from the name, contains oodles of veggie, vegan and dairy recipes.  Just reading about the parve/vegan Crunchy Chocolate Truffle Pie adds 5 pounds to my hips.

8. All Recipes
If you type "kosher" in the search box, then click on "collections," you'll find so many kosher recipes you'll plotz! Make the Taboulli, but please leave out the mint in my serving.

9. Couldn't Be Parve
Just like the title says, no meat, no dairy (and no fish, either). Try her vegan version of Almond Stuffed Dates.

10. Marcy Goldman at Clabber Girl
Marcy is a professional baker and published author who lives in Canada. The Mexican Wedding Cakes are wonderful, delicate cookie balls.

11. Lisa's Kitchen
Another Canadian, but this one specializes in vegetarian Indian food. Try the Sun-Dried Tomato Dressing at your next dairy meal.

12. Sticky, Gooey, Creamy, Chewy
Not a kosher site, but her Slow Roasted Strawberries make me forgive her. ;-)

13. Cafe Liz
Kosher vegetarian living in Israel. The Grape Leaf Pie is fantastic, and not just because it's easier to make than regular stuffed grape leaves.

Thank you, guys!
