Green Peanut Butter Smoothie - Easy

Is eating clean still a thing?  Because this smoothie is clean.  Very clean.  Except for the mess if you use a food processor instead of a blender.

The Green Peanut Butter Smoothie is a sneaky way to get veggies into your kids.   But one taste, and you'll find excuses to keep it for yourself for breakfast or as an afternoon pick-me-up.

And that's not even the best part of this delicious smoothie!
It's how forgiving the list of ingredients are.  Need it vegan/parve?  Use almond or coconut milk for best flavor.  Kids eat all the smooth peanut butter?  Grab the chunky.  Passover?  Sub in almond butter.

At your own risk make the smoothie in a food processor.  But get paper towels handy, even with an alleged liquid-type gasket around the bowl.  I seriously recommend a hand blender instead.  Less to clean too.  Win-win!

Adapted from bonappetit.com
Yield:  2 servings

1 banana, cut up and frozen (defrost slightly if frozen solid)
1 cup milk (dairy or unsweetened almond)
1 cup torn kale, spinach or Swiss Chard
2 Tbl. peanut butter (smooth or chunky), or almond butter
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
ice cubes

The "alternatively"
Place all ingredients except ice in a 2-quart bowl.  With hand blender running, mash all ingredients until pulverized, then blend until completely smooth.  Alternatively, place all ingredients except ice in a standard blender.  Blend until smooth.

Fill two tall glasses with ice cubes.  Pour smoothie mixture over ice.  Pop in a straw and serve immediately.
